Junior/ Mid-Level Associate Attorney
Duties + Responsibilities
- Draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and correspondence to clients and counsel
- Conduct legal research
- Draft discovery, including Interrogatories, Request for Production of Documents, and Request for Admissions
- Prepare written responses to discovery
- Prepare documents for production in response to discovery
- Prepare subpoenas and subpoenas duces tecum
- Conduct any and all other discovery as necessary
- Conduct witness interviews
- Trial Preparation, including drafting of direct and cross examinations and witness preparation
- Prepare trial notebooks
- Prepare deposition outlines and exhibit notebooks
- Conduct and defend depositions
- Court appearances for motions hearings and trials, and attend ADR and mediation
- Approve attorney litigation bag in advance of ADR, depositions, hearings or trials
- Assist Principal Attorney with additional tasks on client matters as necessary
Qualifications + Experience Required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in family law
- Experience with contested divorce litigation a plus
- Admitted to the D.C., VA or MD Bars
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize and deliver creative solutions; and
- Excellent organizational and time management skills necessary to prioritize competing priorities and meet all deadlines

Legal Assistant
Duties + Responsibilities
- Greet clients and guests of the firm in a friendly and professional manner
- Maintain the professional presentation of the office
- Manage attorney calendars
- Enter all court dates and deadlines in Firm calendar
- Prepare daily calendar for principal attorney
- Schedule prospective client consultations
- Schedule client meetings and conference calls
- Assist with processing new files in case management system, and open and maintain client files
- Update files and file indexes prior to any hearing, deposition or meeting
- Maintain client database in case management system
- Arrange travel for attorneys
- Communicate with clients by email
- Type dictation
- Prepare discovery notebooks
- Prepare attorney litigation bag with all necessary files and hearing notebooks
- Provide any additional assistance to attorney as needed and directed for client matters
- Assist with preparation of envelopes and postage for mailings as necessary
- Assist with scanning, faxing, photocopying and bates-stamping documents as necessary
- Enter billable time and expenses as requested; and
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications + Experience Required
- Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience at a law firm
- Experience handling high volume clientele
- Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Word and Excel
- Typing skills 60+ WPM
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient Proofreading Skills
- Dedication to providing high-quality service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple internal clients and be adaptable to the needs of each

Paralegal
Duties + Responsibilities
- Prepare subpoenas
- Arrange service of subpoenas and monitor affidavits of service
- Draft Discovery, including Interrogatories and Request for Documents for attorney review
- Assist clients with preparation of discovery responses
- Prepare documents for production
- Assist with preparation of trial notebooks
- Conduct preliminary witness interviews
- Scan, Fax, Photocopy and bates-stamp documents
- Other duties as requested
Qualifications + Experience Required
- Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience at a law firm
- Experience in divorce and family law a plus
- Experience handling high volume clientele
- Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Word and Excel;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient Proofreading skills
- Dedication to providing high-quality service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to manage multiple internal clients and be adaptable to the needs of each
- Friendly disposition
Part-time Receptionist
Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet clients and guests of the firm in a friendly and professional manner
- Maintain the professional presentation of the office
- Receive and send mail and couriers
- Handle maintenance calls, order office supplies, and troubleshoot photocopiers and printers
- Enter new clients in database and open client files
- Office filing
- Update File Indexes
- Enter time as requested
- Other clerical duties as required
Qualifications + Experience Required
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a professional office environment
- Experience handling busy reception area, a plus
- Basic to Intermediate skills in MS Word and Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
